2-Day Capacity Building Workshop for Member CSOs

Today, Rwanda NGOs Forum on AIDS and Health Promotion successfully concluded a productive 2-day workshop aimed at strengthening the capacity of 30 member CSOs and staff, in communication and community engagement for AIDS, TB, Malaria response, Health Promotion, and pandemic preparedness. The workshop brought together representatives from Civil Society Organizations to strengthen their ability to design and implement impactful community-based interventions that contribute meaningfully to national health responses. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, group discussions, and case studies to deepen their understanding of strategic health communication, behavior change, social mobilization, and risk communication. Notable achievements of the workshop included the formulation of actionable community engagement plans by participating CSOs, improved collaboration frameworks with government health institutions and development partners, and renewed strategies to combat misinformation, stigma, and discrimination around the three diseases. This initiative is a crucial step in empowering CSOs to play a more active role in early warning systems, community surveillance, and health education while laying a stronger foundation for coordinated, community-driven responses to current and future health challenges as well as equipping them with the necessary tools and insights to take a more proactive role in safeguarding community health. #togetherforahealthysociety #csosinaction
